WELCOME

A Compassionate Care provides services for seniors who need help with their daily living tasks or who are disabled, bed or wheelchair bound. We also help seniors recovering after discharge from hospital, nursing home, or rehabilitation facilities. A Compassionate Care provides services for family caregivers who need time away from their care-giving responsibilities. As home healthcare professionals committed to clinical excellence, we care for clients with a variety of needs, and because each person’s needs are unique, our services are flexible and our staff is trained to meet a variety of special health care requirements.

We adapt our services based on your situation: we will assess your needs, recommend a plan of care and discuss it with you, your family and your physician. As your needs change, we will adjust our services accordingly, always providing compassionate care designed to improve your quality of life. Home health care delivered by qualified professionals is a more cost-effective method of treatment delivery and has been shown to result in significant benefits like improved emotional and physical health, fewer hospitalizations, less family stress and increased self confidence.

ABOUT US

A Compassionate Care (ACC) was founded in 2006 by Jeramy and Billie Jean (BJ) Johnson with the goal of providing loving, compassionate care for those in need of skilled home healthcare.  For the next 13 years, Jeramy and BJ would lead ACC to become the second largest, Lufkin based, home healthcare provider.  BJ states, “Our patients, their families, and their physicians depend on us to provide consistent, high-quality care they can trust.  We strive to consistently surpass their expectations by taking the time to get to know our patients personally and treat them as though we were caring for members of our own family”

In 2019, BJ began a battle with cancer that would, naturally, require her and Jeramy’s full attention.  As they considered selling the business they so lovingly built, they knew they wanted to be very careful with who they selected to carry ACC into the future.  After entertaining several offers, BJ and Jeramy chose a local group that share their passion for providing compassionate care to patients and their families.  Throughout the sales process, the new owners developed a strong friendship with The Johnsons and gained a deep understanding of their drive for patient care.  This relationship remains the foundation of what ACC represents in the healthcare community; compassion, personal relationships, and trust.

A Compassionate Care is still privately owned and operated by local experienced healthcare professionals.  Our team’s primary goal is for ACC to become the leading home healthcare provider choice for patients and their families in Greater East Texas.
